In the fall of 2001, Sainath took a collection of his photographs back to some of the villages he'd visited over the past dozen years. The exhibit, "Visible Work, Invisible Women" was seen by more than 100,000 Indians in little more than two months. The exhiibit toured North America again in 2005.
